
A 43-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Long Beach Thursday and another man was detained.
Officers were called about 6:30 a.m. to investigate a report of a stabbing in the 4900 block of Ferro Court, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

“Upon arrival officers located a male adult with a stab wound to his upper torso,” according to police.
Paramedics took the stabbed man to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
He was identified as Long Beach resident Aaron Whatley, police said.
“The subject who was responsible for the stabbing, also a male adult, remained at the scene and … (was) detained by officers while they conducted their investigation,” according to police.
Homicide detectives were dispatched to take over the investigation, but as of about 6 p.m., no arrest had been made, police said.
