A man in his 20s was wounded in a shooting Friday during an argument in South Los Angeles, but police said the wound was not life-threatening.

Gunfire was reported about 8:35 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Figueroa Street, near Slauson Avenue, and arriving officers found one wounded victim, according to Officer Aareon Jefferson of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

The victim was arguing with another man when the suspect produced a handgun and opened fire before leaving the location, Jefferson said.

An ambulance was summoned for the victim, Jefferson said.

A description of the suspect was not available.
