A telephoned threat Friday prompted the evacuation of a county Department of Children and Family Services building in Valencia.

The threat was reported about 1:15 p.m. at the three-story building at 28490 Avenue Stanford, according to Lt. James Duran of the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station.

A search of the building turned up nothing threatening and the all-clear was given about 3 p.m., Duran said.

He did not know the nature of the threat, but said it was placed to a security company and came from an outside source.
