A man wounded in a gang-related shooting in San Fernando that left another man dead and a woman wounded remains in critical condition Saturday as authorities search for the suspect.

The triple shooting happened at 1 p.m. in the 400 block of Harps Avenue, according to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting the San Fernando Police Department in the shooting investigation and suspect search.

When officers arrived at the scene, they contacted the female victim in front of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower abdomen, Navarro-Suarez said.

She directed the officers to the rear yard of the residence where the two male victims were also found with gunshot wounds. One died at the scene.

Almost simultaneously, reports of a man with a gun seen jumping through residential fences in the area were received, the deputy said.

A perimeter of the area was established and an exhaustive search with the assistance of multiple agencies for the possible suspect concluded shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, after the shooter was not found, she said.

The other male victim was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body where he remains in critical condition, Navarro-Suarez said.

The woman also was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

A description of the shooter was not available and the weapon has not been recovered, Navarro-Suarez said.
