Icy road conditions in Llano helped trigger a two-vehicle crash in Llano that killed one motorist and left another with major injuries, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday.
The crash occurred a little after 7:41 p.m. Saturday on the Antelope (138) Highway, east of 248th Street East, the CHP reported.
Due to icy road conditions, a 68-year-old man driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound lost control of his vehicle causing it to rotate toward oncoming and broadsided the right passenger side of an oncoming 1991 Ford F-250 pickup truck.
The driver of the Chevy, a resident of Victorville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics rushed the motorist in the pickup, a 51-year-old man from Lancaster, to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was being treated for major injuries.
