
Traffic through the Grapevine section of the Golden State (5) Freeway was shut down for several hours on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP began snow escorts for vehicles northbound at Parker Road and southbound at Grapevine Road.
The shutdown began at about 4:30 p.m., when two northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway were closed, according to the CHP.
Traffic was then stopped at about 7 p.m. on all northbound lanes at Parker Road and all southbound lanes at Grapevine Road, according to the CHP.
The closures were extended down to Laval Road on the southbound side about 7:30 p.m., according to the CHP.
Traffic resumed moving by 11 p.m. on Saturday.
