A man was killed Sunday in a the crash of a car and motorcycle on the Arroyo Seco (110) Parkway, about halfway between Pasadena and Dodger Stadium.

It happened at about 11:35 a.m., on the southbound 110 Freeway at Marmion Way, near the border of Highland Park and South Pasadena, California Highway Patrol Officer Michele Bond said.

The crash involved a motorcyclist and a gold Ford Mustang.

A man, about 37 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of kin.

It was not clear if he was the motorcyclist.

The crash investigation on the southbound freeway initially closed the number one and two lanes of both the southbound and northbound lanes of the six- lane freeway, leaving just the right lane in both directions open for traffic, Bond said.

The northbound lanes were reopened about 5:50 p.m, Bond said.

The southbound lanes were cleared about 8:25 p.m., according to the CHP.
