A pot shop robbery in Mar Vista turned deadly in the middle of the day Wednesday when a man in the dispensary was shot and killed.
A witness saw a male and a female, both wearing hoodies, enter the shop prior to the shooting, police said.
It was not known if the victim worked at the shop. He was found inside, unconscious and not breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Officers responded about 11:30 a.m. to a call of shots fired in the 12400 block of West Venice Boulevard and upon arrival were directed to the dispensary, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of his family.
No further details were available. Police did not disclose why they believed the killing to be involved with a robbery, nor what the robbers got away with.
