
Commuters in El Segundo were slowed Sunday after a SigAlert was issued to clean out a homeless encampment near the San Diego (405) Freeway.
The SigAlert closed the El Segundo Boulevard offramp to the southbound 405 Freeway at 7 a.m. and was scheduled to be in effect until 2 p.m.
Crews have worked to clean out the homeless encampment in the freeway landscaping, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At press time, it’s unclear how many people were displaced or where they went.
