A bloody stabbing victim is expected to survive after he was attacked early Saturday in a Long Beach park.
Police hunted the attacker, but they had little to go on after the incident at 1:10 a.m. at Rainbow Lagoon Park, 2125 Santa Fe Ave., according to Lt. Melvin McGuire of the Long Beach Police Department.
The location of the stabbing was initially reported to be at the nearby Hyatt Regency but McGuire said the incident was not connected to the hotel.
The victim suffered a stab wound to his torso, McGuire said. He was taken to the hospital and his injury was not life-threatening, he said.
The suspect is being sought and a description was not immediately available.
There was no word of a motive for the stabbing.
