A commercial building in Lakewood was evacuated Thursday after a “white substance” was found in an envelope in the mail room, but the substance was not hazardous, authorities said.
A hazardous-materials team was sent to the AARP building in the 3200 block of East Carson Street about 8 a.m., the county fire department reported. No injuries were reported.
Investigators determined after a couple of hours that the substance was not hazardous, the county fire department reported.
