A man in his 60s was struck and killed Saturday by a hit-and-run motorist in South Los Angeles, according to police.
The crash occurred at 6:20 a.m. in the area of Broadway and 49th Street, said Officer Irma Mota of the LAPD’s Media Relation Section.
The pedestrian was crossing the street westbound at Broadway, when he was struck by a vehicle going southbound on Broadway, Mota said.
The motorist fled the scene. Paramedics rushed the man to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, she said.
Police had no description of the suspect or vehicle.
Detectives from the LAPD’s Central Traffic Division asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (213) 833-3746.
