
Police Monday released surveillance video of the robbery of a cell phone store in Palms in hopes of identifying the suspect.
The crime occurred about 10:15 a.m. on Jan. 29, when a man wearing a motorcycle helmet with a full face cover entered the Verizon store in the 9000 block of Venice Boulevard and simulated having a handgun, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man removed cell phones and exited the store.
A portion of the surveillance video shows the man in a nonpublic area of the store stuffing items from a storage case into a plastic bag.
The suspect was described as a 25- to 30-year-old Hispanic man who is 5 feet 5 inches tall, 145 pounds, wearing a motorcycle helmet with a red and yellow flame design and a navy blue star, a navy blue Adidas jacket, black gloves, tan pants, and white and light silver New Balance sneakers with the letter “N” on them.
