The hunt for the killer of a 39-year-old father of two gunned down in Duarte in front of his wife was stepped up Tuesday when the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors offered a $10,000 reward.
Kirinda Lavar Morehead was shot in the 2300 block of Bashor St. on the evening of Feb. 18. He had just parked behind his wife’s vehicle and they were walking on Mount Olive Drive toward their home when a car pulled alongside and someone inside fired multiple shots, according to sheriff’s investigators.
Supervisor Kathryn Barger, who recommended the reward, called it a “heinous murder.”
Witnesses told investigators they saw a white BMW with tinted windows driving away west on Bashor and then north on Mount Olive Drive. No further information was made available about a possible motive.
Barger asked anyone with information to call sheriff’s homicide Detective Philip Guzman or Sgt. Eric Arias at (323) 890-5500.
