A 35-year-old man whose body was found along a road in Angeles National Forest outside Palmdale had upper body trauma and his death being investigated as a homicide, a sheriff’s deputy said Friday.

The body was found at 12:49 p.m. Thursday along Angeles Forest Highway, near Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road, said Deputy Grace Medrano of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The man, who was found about 30 feet off the road, has been identified, but his name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, Medrano said.

His cause of death was to be determined by the coroner’s office.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau are investigating the death.
