A suspected drunken driver was arrested early Thursday after crashing his car into the Downey City Library, police said.
The man was not harmed in the crash, which happened at 1:33 a.m. at the library, located at 11121 Brookshire Ave., said Downey Police Sgt. Mike Parino. He was the only occupant in the vehicle when he crashed into the unoccupied library, Parino said.
Police were investigating the cause of the crash but Parino said the man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol.
The driver, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested Wednesday on a minor traffic warrant and released, Parino said.
