Police Wednesday said the death of a man whose body was found at the base of a waterfront cliff in San Pedro was being investigated as a suicide.
The discovery was made about 2:35 p.m. Tuesday near the 4100 block of South Pacific Avenue, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters hoisted the body to the street above for transport to the morgue, Stewart said.
The cliff where the man was found has been the site of suicides before, said Sgt. Bradley Hearn of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division.
