Authorities Tuesday were looking for a man who tried to abduct a young woman who was walking to school in the North Hollywood area.

The incident, which was captured on a residential security camera, occurred at 10:20 a.m. Monday in the 8100 block of Whitsett Avenue as the 18- year-old woman was walking to John H. Francis Polytechnic High School, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The woman managed to break free of the man when he grabbed her, and she ran off, said LAPD Officer Tony Im. She was not injured.

“The case is being investigated as an attempted kidnapping,” Im said.

The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 20s, 5-feet-6 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds. He drove a dark-color four-door BMW, Im said.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call (877) LAPD-247.
