Sheriff’s investigators face danger daily as they track down killers and other felons.
On Thursday they asked for public help in identifying a video game console thief.
The Stevenson Ranch in Santa Clarita theft occurred about 11:45 p.m. Monday, when the suspect entered a business in the 25400 block of The Old Road, walked throughout the store and then entered a rear area restricted to employees, according to Shirley Miller, public information officer with the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station.

“He began taking merchandise from the back of the store and placing the items in a plastic tote,” Miller said. “When he was confronted by store personnel, he ran out the fire exit with a PlayStation 4 making no attempt to pay for the item.”
The suspect is described as white and about 24-30 years old. He was wearing a black baseball cap with a “KINGS” logo in white lettering in front, a black hoodie, white T-shirt and black pants.
The man’s image was captured by a security camera and anyone who recognizes him was urged to contact the Santa Clarita Valley station at (661) 255-1121, extension 2317, to speak with Detective O’Brien.
