Deputies spotted a stolen 2001 Nissan at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of Hawthorne Boulevard and Palos Verdes Drive West via an alert from an Automated License Plate Reader and tried to pull the car over, said Capt. Dan Beringer of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lomita station.
The Nissan went through residential neighborhoods in the area of Hawthorne Boulevard and Crest Road, before being abandoned in the 30000 block of Avenida Classica, Beringer said.
“One suspect was immediately arrested, but the other three occupants of the car attempted to flee on foot,” he said. “Deputies quickly located and arrested the trio with the assistance of a sheriff’s helicopter.”
Adan Fregoso, 20, and Steven Pacheco, 18, along with two teenagers were booked in the sheriff’s Lomita station on suspicion of a variety of charges. All four suspects were residents of San Pedro, he said.
The 2001 Nissan was stolen from the Harbor area on Friday, Beringer said.
