A man in his late teens was shot to death at a park in Highland Park.

The shooting was reported at Arroyo Seco Park, in the area of San Pascual Avenue and Comet Street, according to Officer Sal Ramirez of the Los Angles Police Department’s Media Relations Division.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday, Ramirez said.

Two males were seen running through the park following the shooting, Ramirez said.

The shooting was witnessed by the man’s girlfriend, who called 911, police said. She was not injured.

The males’ faces were covered by bandanas, according to reports from the scene.

KCAL9 reported the suspects asked the victim where he was from before shooting at him, leading police to believe the shooting was gang related.
