A person was found dead Thursday at the scene of a house fire in South Los Angeles.
The male victim was found deceased inside a one-story, single-family house in the 800 block of West 106th Street, where a fire was reported at 5:25 p.m., Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

Thirty firefighters responded and knocked down the fire in 16 minutes, containing it to the front of the home, Stewart said.
