It’s a pretty bad Saturday for 26 motorists who found themselves in custody after being nabbed at a Lancaster DUI checkpoint overnight.

The checkpoint was held between 6 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of Avenue J and Genoa Avenue.

Of the 874 vehicles screened, 24 drivers were arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while their license was suspended, authorities said.

One driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and another driver was arrested on other criminal charges, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

In addition to the arrests, 38 citations were issued, authorities said.
