The driver of a car that was found overturned in the yard of a home near Beverly Hills after it went over a cliff and rolled downhill was in custody Saturday.
Details were still sketchy. It wasn’t clear why the driver was arrested, nor if the individual had sustained any injuries.
While the overturned car was found Friday night in the Beverly Crest neighborhood home, no driver could be located anywhere near the area, so authorities launched a search of homes and backyards.
While that search was unsuccessful, police went to the address listed on the overturned car’s registration and made the arrest at that location, according to a media report.
The incident was reported at 8:38 p.m. Friday at 9701 Blantyre Drive, near Mulholland Drive, north of Beverly Hills, according to Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
