An 18-year-old man killed in a Monrovia shooting that also left a juvenile male injured was identified Sunday by the coroner’s office.

Oscar Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene and the unidentified juvenile was hospitalized in critical condition.

The shooting happened late Saturday night in the 100 block of West Cypress Avenue, Monrovia police said.

Officers responding to a shots fired call found both victims with gunshot wounds to the body.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remained under investigation by Monrovia police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
