
It took Los Angeles County firefighters about an hour Saturday to put out a half-acre brush fire on Encinal Canyon Road north of Pacific Coast Highway, authorities said.
It was reported at 1:16 p.m. on Encinal Canyon Road about four miles north of Pacific Coast Highway, according to a fire department dispatcher. The flames were out at 2:19 p.m.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported, the dispatcher said.
Another brush fire closed the Sherman Way off-ramp of the northbound Hollywood (170) Freeway in North Hollywood Saturday. It was reported at 1:47 p.m. near the right shoulder and burned near an apartment complex in the 12300 block of Sherman Way, according to the California Highway Patrol.
