A pedestrian, who was crossing the street in Van Nuys early Sunday morning and struck by a hit-and-run driver, was also hit by a Metro bus and died at the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

At approximately 12:03 a.m., the unidentified pedestrian was crossing Sepulveda Blvd. at Vanowen St. when a dark colored four-door sedan struck the person, according to Det. Bill Bustos with the LAPD Valley Traffic Division.

The pedestrian landed in the number three lane on Sepulveda Blvd., where a northbound MTA bus struck the person, Bustos said.

The bus driver stopped but the sedan driver did not, according to Bustos.

The LAPD is offering a $50,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the hit-and-run driver, Bustos added. The LAPD can be reached at (818) 374-1999.
