The Los Angeles City Council approved a $50,000 reward Tuesday for information leading to the person responsible for a double shooting at a Harbor City barbecue stand that left a woman dead and a man wounded.

Jennifer Dickerson, 31, was working at Wheaton’s Eatins barbecue stand in the parking lot of a Pep Boys auto parts store when a man with his face covered approached the stand and opened fire around 1:50 p.m. July 29, 2016.

Dickerson was hit in the chest and fatally wounded. A man who also worked at the stand was hit in an arm but survived. The suspect may have fled the scene in a red GMC Jimmy SUV, police said.

“He didn’t seem to be aiming at one particular person, but just shooting toward the pop-up tents where the barbecue was and where there were customers gathered,” LAPD Detective David Cortez said at the time.

The motion for the reward was introduced by Councilman Joe Buscaino, who represents the Harbor City area, and was approved with a 13-0 vote.
