A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly breaking into a Wildomar church.

Rudolph Joseph McCreight, 47, of Wildomar was booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of felony burglary and being in possession of burglary tools. He’s being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

The suspect allegedly broke into a house of worship in the 23000 block of Bundy Canyon Road, near Oak Creek Road, shortly after 4 a.m.

A security guard stopped the suspect as he was leaving the property, detaining him until deputies arrived, according to sheriff’s Lt. Kevin Smith.

He alleged that items from inside the church were found in McCreight’s possession, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

According to court records, McCreight has a pending burglary case from last year and failed to show at his last hearing, prompting a judge to issue a warrant for his arrest.
