A 75-year-old motorist in Rowland Heights was killed when he triggered a two-vehicle, head-on crash that left the other motorist, a 20-year-old man, with major injuries, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday.
The crash occurred about 2 p.m. Saturday on Colima Road at Ybarra Drive, the CHP reported.
The 75-year-old motorist was driving a 1991 Honda in the left turn lane of westbound Colima Road, east of Ybarra Drive, when he made a left turn directly into the path of a 2010 Mazda that was driven by the 20-year-old West Covina resident.
Paramedics rushed both motorists to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, where the 75-year-old resident of Rowland Heights was pronounced dead at 2:45 p.m. Saturday.
The CHP’s Santa Fe Springs office asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (562) 868-0503.
