A man was in custody Thursday after leading authorities on a nearly hour-long chase that began and ended in East Los Angeles.

The chase was reported to have started at 11:04 p.m. Wednesday and ended just before midnight in the area of Mednik Avenue and East Third Street, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was wanted for reckless driving and was suspected of being intoxicated, NBC4 reported.

The chase ended when the man crashed into a median, forcing the car he was driving to stop. He got out and ran and was tackled by an officer.

No injuries to officers or civilians were reported.
