A vegetation fire sparked by some kind of vehicle consumed three-quarters of an acre along a hillside at the edge of Ernest E. Debs Regional Park, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman reported Sunday.

The park is just east of the Pasadena (110) Freeway between downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena.

Ground and air crews responded to the 12:22 a.m. blaze at 5010 N. Griffin Ave., said department spokesman Brian Humphrey. Knockdown was reported just before 2 a.m.

The cause was a vehicle fire, but there were no details provided about they type of vehicle or reason for the blaze. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, Humphrey said.
