A man inhaled smoke from a kitchen fire on the second floor of a three-story apartment building in Pasadena Sunday, and was rushed to an area hospital.
His medical condition was not immediately known, said Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched at 6:30 a.m. to 2445 E. Del Mar Blvd. and had the fire out within 20 minutes of their arrival, Derderian said.
The address is the location of the Del Mar Apartments, LLC.
“There was one female occupant displaced from the affected unit and six others were displaced because their units (two in total) sustained smoke and water damage,” she said. “All are staying with relatives.”
The fire caused $250,000 damage to the structure and $75,000 damage to its contents, Derderian said. Its cause remained under investigation.
