Some high-end Irvine apartments were hiding some sexy but lucrative secrets — they were really suburban brothels.
But that’s all over now after a 53-year-old Ladera Ranch man who was caught with almost a half-million dollars in cash pleaded guilty to running the hooker havens.
He was immediately sentenced to 10 years in prison for running the prostitution ring out of those pricey Irvine apartments.
Fadi Boulos Chaiban pleaded guilty Tuesday to pandering 53 women to work as prostitutes in the apartments from 2014 through the beginning of the year, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Co-defendant Tina Lorraine Saunders, 53, of Ladera Ranch, is charged with pimping and pandering and conspiracy to commit pimping and pandering and faces up to six years in prison if she is convicted at trial.
Saunders is accused of renting an apartment for Chaiban to use for prostitution, prosecutors alleged.
Chaiban had about $465,240 in cash in a storage locker when he was arrested, and he was ordered to forfeit that money as part of the sentence, prosecutors said.
