Police Saturday were hunting the killer of a man in his 20s who was gunned down inside a Van Nuys smog testing station.
It wasn’t clear why the murder took place at a smog testing station, but police said the shooting may have been gang-related. There was no word if the victim worked at the facility or if he was just there to have his vehicle tested and certified for renewed registration.
The gunfire was reported at 2:48 p.m. Friday in the 15700 block of Saticoy Street, near Haskell Avenue, according to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department‘s Media Relations Bureau.
The suspect, believed to be in his 40s, entered the business and shot the victim before running from the death scene, Madison said.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he died, Madison said.
