A 49-year-old man shot and killed his mother before taking his own life in San Gabriel, Los Angeles sheriff’s investigators said.
Few details were available Sunday as investigators tried to determine a motive for the deaths.
Deputies responded at 10:06 p.m. Saturday to reports of shots fired at an apartment on the 1300 block of Stevens Avenue, said Kimberly Alexander of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

They found that the man had shot his mother, and then killed himself. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, Alexander said.
Sheriff’s investigators are assisting the San Gabriel Police Department with the investigation.
