An investigation was underway Tuesday evening into the shooting death of a man in South Gate.
The sheriff’s department reported about 8:30 p.m. that detectives from its homicide bureau were assisting South Gate police in the investigation of a man’s shooting death in the 8600 block of Rayo Street.

It was unclear when the man was shot, according Deputy Lisa Jansen of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The victim was found inside a car, according to KCAL9.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Jansen said.
