A driver was killed Monday when his out-of-control Mercedes crashed into a tree in the Windsor Hills area of the county near southwest Los Angeles.
The crash occurred about 1:20 a.m. at Angeles Vista Boulevard and Mullen Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
“For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the vehicle colliding with a tree,” a CHP statement said.
The man died at the scene. His name was withheld, pending notification of relatives.
