A possibly mentally ill attacker caused about $10,000 damage to a Pasadena restaurant and was arrested after he attempted to beat the owner of the business, police said.
The belligerent suspect who police said suffers from mental health issues was taken to a hospital for evaluation due to his erratic behavior.
Officers responded to Juicy Wingz at 2675 E. Colorado Blvd. at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday to a vandalism in progress, according to Pasadena police Lt. Javier Aguilar.
The suspect caused major property damage to the restaurant before fleeing the scene, Aguilar said.
The suspect returned, allegedly attempted to assault the establishment’s owner and was taken into custody on suspicion of vandalism and assault. Police also learned that he attempted to assault a pedestrian with a hard object, possibly a stick, when he fled, Aguilar said.
