Several firefighters lifted a car to rescue a man who was pinned under the vehicle when a motorist jumped a curb in Skid Row Saturday, striking two people.
Both men were rushed to an area hospital, where their conditions were not immediately known, said Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 4:19 a.m. to the 1000 block of East Seventh Street, in response to an “auto versus pedestrian” call, Bastman said.
The motorist was arrested at the scene, according to media reports.
A watch commander at the LAPD’s Central Station could not be reached for immediate comment.
