Authorities Friday identified a man who barricaded himself in a residential building in the Beverly Grove area and who was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The standoff began about 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, when police were called to the 600 block of North Edinburgh Avenue, said Los Angeles police Officer Tony Im.
Crisis negotiators and a SWAT team were called to the location, and fire department personnel staged nearby. A woman and child got out of the building safely about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police entered the residence about 2 a.m. Thursday and found the body of Johannes Marlie, 32, of West Hollywood, according to the coroner’s office and the LAPD.
