A pedestrian was struck and killed by at least one vehicle, part of a six-vehicle pre-dawn crash Sunday on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Industry.
It was not clear in California Highway Patrol reports why the man was on the freeway, but he was hit by at least one vehicle a little before 2 a.m. on the southbound 605 near the Rose Hills Road onramp.
Paramedics were dispatched at 2:01 a.m. and rushed four people to area hospitals, said county fire department dispatcher. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:06 a.m.
A 21-year-old man driving a 1970 Datsun 240Z had major injuries and was rushed to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center. So was his passenger, a 19- year-old woman, who suffered moderate injuries, the CHP reported.
A 65-year-old man driving 1998 Toyota Camry suffered minor injuries and his passenger, a 59-year-old woman, suffered moderate injuries. They were both transported to Beverly Hospital in Montebello.
The CHP asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (323) 982-4900.
