A motorist who was killed in a rollover crash on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Norwalk was an off-duty Monterey Park police officer, authorities said Tuesday.
The single-vehicle crash was reported at 5:28 a.m. Monday at the Glen Anderson (105) Freeway, and the motorist died at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Monterey Park Police Department identified the man as 36-year-old Officer Adrian Carrillo.
“Officer Carrillo had been with the Department since December of 2015 and was well-liked by both his colleagues and the community,” a city statement said. “We grieve alongside his family and friends.”
