An armed man suspected of assault with a deadly weapon has holed himself up inside a home in Compton, authorities said Saturday.
“He (the suspect) got into some sort of dispute with someone in his neighborhood and put a gun to the person’s head,” said a watch sergeant at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Compton station.
Deputies were dispatched at 9:52 a.m. to the 600 block of North Kalsman Avenue in response to a “man with a gun” call, he said.
A SWAT team was eventually called to the location, he said.
