A man was shot and killed Monday in the Fairfax district.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, which was reported about 5:45 p.m. on Melrose Avenue near Sierra Bonita Avenue, according to Los Angeles police Officer Mike Lopez.
A man who fled the scene in a black SUV was being sought, Lopez said.
It was unclear if the shooting was gang-related, he said.
