Police asked for the public’s help to find a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a woman in West Los Angeles.

The pedestrian was inside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Bureau.

Melissa Koehler, 47, died at the scene. She was struck about 8:25 p.m. Aug. 30 at Federal Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, according to the coroner’s office and the Los Angeles Police Department.

No descriptions were released of the vehicle that hit her or the driver. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the LAPD West Traffic Division at (213) 473-0234, or (877) LAPD-247.

Tipsters who provide police with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the hit-and-run driver would be eligible for a reward of up to $50,000 from the city’s “Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund.”
