A reckless driving suspect led California Highway Patrol officers on a chase from Westwood to Manhattan Beach Friday before a PIT maneuver was used to stop her vehicle.
The chase began about 4:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Federal Building at 11000 Wilshire Blvd., where an employee reported the vehicle was being driven recklessly by a woman in a parking lot, according to the FBI.
Federal Protective Service officers initiated a chase, which was handed over to the CHP about 5 p.m., authorities said.
The white Kia headed south on the San Diego (405) Freeway and west on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway before the driver took to surface streets.
About 5:30 p.m. in the area of Sepulveda Boulevard and 33rd Street, a CHP unit executed a PIT maneuver to stop the SUV, which had been driven at times over medians and on the wrong side of the road.
The woman was taken into custody without further incident.
