A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Pasadena that left two teenagers wounded was killed and a woman sustained a minor injury Friday in an officer-involved shooting at a park in Duarte.

The shooting occurred about 1 p.m. in a parking lot at Encanto Park in the 700 block of Encanto Parkway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau Lt. Joe Mendoza told reporters at the scene that the 28-year-old Pasadena man was wanted in connection with a shooting Thursday night in Pasadena that left a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl wounded.

According to Mendoza, four officers opened fire during the shooting, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, which reported that a 36-year-old woman who was with the suspect was also shot, but her injury was considered minor.

She had drugs in her possession and could face charges, the newspaper reported.

News footage showed a white sedan with a shattered rear window pinned in by other vehicles in a parking area at Encanto Park. No officers were injured.

Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives were assisting Pasadena police in the shooting investigation.
