Flames tore through an eight-unit strip mall in Van Nuys in the early morning darkness Sunday, but firefighters managed to keep the damage limited to one business.

Firefighters dispatched at 3:54 a.m. to 14100 W. Burbank Blvd. had the fire out at 4:22 a.m., said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No injuries were reported and a cause of the fire was under investigation.
