Metro officials urged commuters to allow extra time during Monday morning’s commute because a power problem will force Green Line trains to share a track through Lynwood.

Both eastbound and westbound Green Line trains will share the eastbound track between the station at 11508 Long Beach Boulevard and the station at 11611 Willowbrook Avenue, Metro spokeswoman Kim Upton told City News Service.

A train pulling into the Long Beach Boulevard station late Sunday morning damaged an electric power line, which crews have been working to repair, Upton said.

“We are sure it will extend through the morning rush,” she said.

Having the eastbound and westbound trains share the eastbound track between the two stations could cause a 10-to-15-minute delay, which is shorter than if buses were used to bridge the gap, she said.
